Choosing the right auction company to sell your farm is vital. Having been in business since 1961, we have decades of experience marketing and selling Arkansas farmland. Row crops, rice, timber and more, we’ve helped our sellers say Sold It! Sold It! Sold It!
As a farmer, your land is more than just a piece of property. It’s where you’ve poured sweat, time, and perhaps generations of family heritage. When it comes time to sell, ensuring that the sale is handled with the same care, expertise, and dedication that you’ve invested in the land is of real importance.
Wilson Auctioneers has been a family-run business since our founding in 1961. Our team of professionals understands the intricacies of selling farmland and is equipped with the knowledge to provide a seamless and rewarding selling experience. We’ve successfully managed countless land sales. With our expertise, you can trust that your property is in good hands.
Wilson Auctioneers uses targeted marketing strategies tailored for farmland. We understand that selling such land requires a unique approach, different from selling residential or commercial properties. By leveraging the latest tools and technology, we ensure your property gets the maximum exposure to the right audience, translating into quicker sales and better prices.
The auction process can be the most effective way to achieve the highest possible price for your property. At Wilson Auctioneers, we pride ourselves on a transparent and honest process. Potential buyers are thoroughly vetted, ensuring only serious contenders participate, which drives up competition and, subsequently, the final sale price.
We recognize that every piece of land, and every seller, is unique. That’s why our services are not one-size-fits-all. We take the time to understand your specific needs, concerns, and expectations. Our team is always available to answer questions, provide updates, or discuss any concerns you might have throughout the process.
Over the years, Wilson Auctioneers has built a reputation for integrity and professionalism. Our countless satisfied clients stand testament to our commitment to excellence. When you choose us, you’re not just getting a service; you’re becoming a part of a legacy of successful sales and happy clients.
I’ve been meaning for several months now to post a review our past experience with Wilson Auctioneers.
My sister and I wanted to dissolve a corporation we jointly owned which required liquidating farmland and wooded tracts scattered over 2 states and 4 counties, which we estimated the total value to be in the mid to high 7 figure range to give you an idea of the scope. Due to the seasonal nature of tillable row crop farmland, we felt the sales process needed to move forward quickly to sell at top dollar. We contacted 3 auction companies to pitch us.
David Brewer (Joe Wilson’s son-in-law) was the first to have his proposal ready to present, which we did by video conference. We were impressed that it was so detailed. For example, he presented an advertising budget that had the specific TV markets they would run commercials and the amount budgeted to each market. Likewise for radio and print advertising. Their advertising budget was large – necessary due to the scattered nature of the tracts and was commensurate with the total value of the properties.
David also prepared a timeline of the process – including time to prepare advertising, the date it would start running, and an auction date. That timeline presented during the sales pitch turned out to be spot on.
Once we selected Wilson Auctioneers, David quickly pulled needed public records such as soil maps, FSA records, arranged ground and drone aerial pictures, etc as needed to prepare the advertising. The pictures were of very professional quality and the info provided to buyers was very detailed. Advertising started running promptly so it would run a duration of at least 30 days prior to the sale date.
David also took care of getting any needed surveying done, title commitments, and fielded all inquiries from prospective buyers. We virtually didn’t have to do anything regarding the entire sales process. This is a “get it done no matter what it takes” type of company. They don’t clock out at 5 if time sensitive work hasn’t yet been completed and the quality of their work is very professional.
In not previously knowing anything about the company, we also appreciated that Joe Wilson, the namesake of the company, made the effort to attend the initial video conference sales pitch in spite of being in Hawaii at the time and seemingly to be what I’d call “semi-retired” (he’s mostly turned over the company reins to David Brewer, his son-in-law).
The auction for all tracts was held the same day at a hotel convention center room. We had very good attendance both in person and via online bidding. We were very pleased with the net price we received – it was more than we had estimated before the sale, and I strongly suspect much more than we would have gotten from the other auction companies that we let pitch us.
Bottom line: If I had it to do over again, I wouldn’t change a thing.
